"After hearing Nina's presentation at the plastic health summit last week, I felt guilty about the waste that we produced in the Netherlands and it turned out to be a problem. Where Nina lives, I wanted to invite Nina and show her our efforts in the Netherlands to use plastic waste into useful materials such as bricks. , roads and building materials for houses,” said Professor Flooris boogaard, further Lecturer at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen University of Applied Science (Hanze) stated that every human being is responsible for the waste produced.

Thursday (28/10) Aeshnina Azzahra Aqilani had the opportunity to visit The Building Innovation laboratory of Hanze in Groningen City. Accompanied by DR Piet Zijlstra, Nina was able to see the results of Piet Zijlstra's innovations in the Building. "We use plastic waste into roads with a thickness of 5 cm, plastic waste is pressed with such pressure that it reduces the release of microplastic particles into the air," said Piet Zijlstra, the entrepreneur who manages this building further explained that plastic waste is also used as bricks, information board poles and building materials.

"Universities in the Netherlands are serious about taking part in dealing with the current plastic waste crisis," said Aeshnina, further Nina also stated that a sustainable solution is to reduce the use of single-use plastics. "Efforts to use plastic waste for building materials are still at an experimental stage because the cost to process plastic into building materials is currently very expensive," said Nina.

After walking around looking at the innovations produced in the Building, Nina had the opportunity to have a dialogue with several lecturers and students of Hanze . "After traveling around, I wanted to study at Hanze and major in urban planning, but I couldn't stand the cold air and the less spicy sauce," said Nina.
