Developed countries must be responsible for the impact of recycling plastic waste that has been exported to Indonesia. "This is not fair! Developed countries must stop sending their plastic waste to Indonesia and other developing countries in ASEAN. Countries in Europe know that recycling is dirty and requires high energy in the work process," said Nina, a Class III student at Muhammadiyah High School. 10 Gresik explains the fact that many recycling industries in Europe have closed due to high costs and minimal demand for recycled plastic because virgin plastic is cheaper.

Aeshnina Azzahra Aqilani had the opportunity to explain the impact of waste exports from developed countries to Indonesia. " River Warrior Indonesia and I discovered the environmental impact of imported waste from developed countries, including the burning of plastic waste that cannot be recycled, this plastic waste causes dioxide pollution which causes respiratory problems and lung disease," said Nina, more Aeshnina continued explaining that every year there are more than 5 million tons of paper waste and millions of tons of plastic waste that are recycled in Indonesia, even though the recycling industry does not have good waste processing capacity resulting in microplastic and plastic additive pollution in the waters, even though the river water is discarded waste from recycling factories becomes raw material for drinking water and irrigation for thousands of hectares of fish ponds in down stream.
